2007 Nissan Altima

It appears 2007 is the year al the automakers jump on the hybrid wagon. Nissan is yet another manufacturer to enter with their 2007 Nissan Altima.

Starting off with the four-cylinder 2.5-liter engine was a good idea by Nissan. This engine provides decent power but still manages to get great mileage.

The use of an electric motor increases mileage even more. One of the innovative features of the new hybrid Altima is the use of the breaking system to recharge the batteries. This is a very smart feature. Why not use the forward momentum to generate electricity? This concept is a new and very cool and efficient idea. By using forward momentum and with the breaking system you can actually get better gas mileage in the city versus the highway. I bet you never thought that would happen. Neither did I, kudos to both Nissan and Toyota who invested in and developed the technology.

So what can you expect from the new Altima? How does a two hundred horsepower hybrid for under twenty six thousand dollars sound? It sounds good to me also. Fuel mileage estimates are in the high thirties to high forty miles to the gallon.

The Altima has always been considered a middle class car. With this aggressive pricing and add in the fact it is a hybrid sales should increase substantially.

Do not look to win any races with the Altima because it will take you close to nine seconds to reach sixty. Think of it this way you can catch up to them when they have to refill their gas tanks.

If you are price conscious and also enjoy being environmentally friendly the 2007 Altima is an excellent option for you.

Expect demand to be high so put an order in early and do not be surprised if the dealer tacks on an additional two-six thousand dollars as a premium.
